Tamworth Borough Election Results 2008
A total of 10 seats were contested at the Borough Council's local elections on Thursday 1 May 2008. Tamworth Borough Council is made up of 10 electoral wards, each of which is represented by three Councillors. Each Council Member is elected for a four year term. A local election is held three years out of four. Staffordshire County Council elections are held in the fourth year.
The overall composition of Tamworth Borough Council is now;
· 24 Conservative Councillors
· 5 Labour Councillors
· 1 Independent Councillors
Nicola Annandale replaces Cllr Dennis Powick to represent Glasote ward and the following councillors retained their seat for another term:

Belgrave: Robert Pritchard
Bolehall: John Faulkner
Castle: Chippy Lees
Mercian: Sam Munn
Spital: Ron Cook
Stonydelph: Danny Cook
Trinity: Gerry Pinner
Wilnecote: Mary Oates
The overall turnout for the election was 29.9%.
